Academic ability is assessed primarily by the student's capacity to answer questions, but what does that test or value? What if student assessment required a dialogue in which students and teachers were required to ask and answer questions?

Students begin a course by reading an outline of the course and submitting questions. Lectures incorporate answers and pose responsive questions. In exams and assignments, students are required to ask relevant questions as well as answer them.
