My idea is that our national government should legislate that all new residential and commercial buildings must be fitted with solar cells for household and commercial power production, with capacity to feed back surplus power to the national grid.
We live in a land of bountiful sunshine. Solar energy production and battery storage equipment has markedly improved in the last 10 years. Australians are outraged that the government is considering digging more coal out of the ground. We already have significant construction rules around our new buildings. Equipment for solar energy production needs to be a mandatory part of any new building plans.
